AUSTIN, Texas – Two goals in the second half sunk Eastern New Mexico Woman's Soccer (2-7-1, 1-5-0 LSC), 2-0, on Saturday afternoon against St. Edward's (3-6-2, 1-4-1 LSC) at Lewis-Chen Family Field.
The Hilltoppers controlled the opening 45 minutes, as St. Edward's compiled 16 shots with eight going on goal.
Rosie Willmott Joyce sprung into action with eight saves in the opening period to keep the match level. ENMU did find a few shots at the end of the period, with
Mariana Gonzalez Jimenez shooting, and
Faith Zint putting a shot on frame.
However, the Hilltoppers scored just 171 seconds after the restart to take a 1-0 advantage. The pace of the game slowed following the goal, with the teams combining for just four shots in the second half and two on goal. The clinching goal came in the 64
th minute, as St. Edward's went ahead 2-0 and held on until the end of the match.

- Along with Gonzalez Jimenez and Zint, Jayden Romo recorded a shot in the game.
- Eastern committed more fouls during the match, 12-7, while the Hilltoppers provided the edge on corners, 4-2.
- In goal, Willmott Joyce made eight saves (all in the first half) with the second most saves in a match this season.
- Eastern remain winless against the Hilltoppers in the all-time series, 0-7-0.
