Angelo State Downs Women's Soccer, 3-0

The Rambelles outshot the Greyhounds 16-3, with a 9-0 edge on shots on goal

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Women's (2-9-1, 1-7-0 LSC) dropped a home contest, 3-0, against top of the conference Angelo State (8-1-3, 6-0-1 LSC) on Sunday afternoon at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium.
 
The visiting Rambelles began with a pair of testing shots in the opening 15 minutes, as Rosie Willmott Joyce made two saves for the Greyhounds. However, Angelo State capitalized on an Eastern New Mexico turnover high up the field, with Katelin Heise rounding the goalkeeper to give the Rambelles the lead. ASU doubled their lead just before halftime, as a free kick was headed across goal then tapped in by Abby James.

Following the halftime break, ASU peppered the Greyhounds goal with three shots in the opening 12 minutes, finding a third goal in the 57th minute. Eastern did register two shots in the second half, but the Rambelles saw out the rest of the match to win 3-0.

  • Eastern managed three shots in the game, Gaia Chies, Mariana Gonzalez Jimenez, and Gaia Chies each had a shot in the match.
