ALPINE, Texas – Eastern New Mexico Men's Soccer (4-4-6, 2-2-3 LSC) shutout Sul Ross State (6-7-1, 2-4-1 LSC), 0-0, on Saturday afternoon at Lobo Soccer Field.
The Greyhounds forced the issue in the opening 30 minutes, finding three shots on goal coming from
Arthur Macri,
Pablo Nodar, and
Augustine Banhire. The profile of the game changed just before the end of the first half, with Angel Lugo being showed a straight red card to reduce the Lobos to ten men.
Eastern used the extra man to fire a few shots at goal, as
Giani Mascarel and
Nick Huenig tested the SRSU keeper in the first 15 minutes of the second half. However, the home team went on the front foot in the final 15 minutes, sending three shots on goal and striking the crossbar.
Milo Paci repelled all the Lobos efforts, taking four shots in the final three minutes to preserve a 0-0 draw.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- The Greyhounds played out their second 0-0 draw of the season, with the first occurring just one week ago against UT Tyler (10/19/24).
- ENMU and SRSU matched up for the second time this season, and the second time in program history. The 0-0 draw was the first in the series history.
- Paci collected their 4th shutout of the season, including their third in conference play.
- Six Greyhounds played the full 90 minutes: Kris McDonald, Nodar, Kevin Nunez, Paci, Ludwig Scherer, and Loris Tsiatsipy.
- Eastern New Mexico continues a short road stretch, traveling to play West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas on Wednesday, October 30. Kickoff from The Pitch is slated for 6 p.m. (MST) / 7 p.m. (CST).
