Drewett Scores First Career Goal In Loss Against Oklahoma Christian

Drewett hit the back of the net for the first time in their career, with a first career assist for Meredith Brown.

EDMOND, Okla. – In a windy night in Edmond, Eastern New Mexico Women's Soccer (2-11-1, 1-9-0 LSC) faced a difficult road opponent in Oklahoma Christian (9-3-4, 5-3-3 LSC) falling 8-1 on Tuesday evening.
 
The Eagles scored three goals in the opening half to get themselves on the front foot. Oklahoma Christian continued to pile on the pressure in the second half, tallying eight goals on the evening with five in the second half.

Eastern did grab a consolation with 16 minutes remaining in the match, making the score 5-1. Sarah Tate won the ball off an Eagles attacker, clearing it into the feet of Jacqueline Garcia up the field. The forward then played a ball over the top to Meredith Brown, who turned their defender and squared a pass across the box to Kylie Drewett. Drewett's first time strike trickled into the bottom left corner, breaking up the OC shutout.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE

  • Yaritza Pelayo finished the match with five saves, playing 79 minutes in goal. Rosie Willmott Joyce played the final 11 minutes for the Greyhounds, making one save.
