AUSTIN, Texas – Four goals in the second half led to a 2-2 draw for Eastern New Mexico Men's Soccer (2-3-4, 0-1-1 LSC) against St. Edward's (3-3-3, 1-0-2 LSC) on Wednesday afternoon at Lewis-Chen Family Field.
After an empty first half, the Greyhounds scored on their first attempt at goal in the 48
th minute. After some quick dribbling from
Giani Mascarel,
Ben Sauerländer picked up the ball 35 yards from goal and laced a shot into the top corner to give the Greyhounds the lead. The ENMU resistance broke in the 77
th minute. The Hilltoppers headed down a corner kick allowing Vicente Alvarez to tap into an empty net.

Straight from kickoff, the Greyhounds restored the lead as
Pablo Nodar scored just 14 seconds after the restart.
Kris McDonald sent a long ball into the attacking area, with Nodar pouncing on the loose ball and sliding his effort underneath the on-rushing goalkeeper. St. Edward's looked to equalize again, and they did in the 85
th minute. Alvarez grabbed his second of the game with a curling left footed shot into the top left corner from 20 yards out.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- The Hilltoppers out shot the Greyhounds 14-4, while SEU had 12 shots go on goal, with ENMU finding all four shots reach the target. Milo Paci made 10 saves in the ENMU net for the Greyhounds, tied for 8th most in a single game in program history.
- Sauerländer and Nodar both scored their third goal of the season, while Mascarel and McDonald picked up their first assists of the season.
- The draw between the two teams is the highest scoring draw, while also being the first tie in Austin since 2011.
- Robin Vandewalle made his first start of the season, while seven Greyhounds played the full 90 minutes: Colin Hyzy, McDonald, Nodar, Paci, Ludwig Scherer, Loris Tsiatsipy, Rodrigo Velasco.
- Eastern New Mexico plays their next match at home, as Texas A&M International make the trip from Laredo, Texas to Portales. Kickoff on Saturday, Oct. 12, is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
