LAWTON, Okla. – Eastern New Mexico Volleyball (3-13, 0-5 LSC) fell in a close match with Cameron (1-14, 1-4 LSC) during the Aggies home opener in a 3-1 loss on Wednesday evening at Aggie Gymnasium.
CU 3, ENMU 1 (20-25, 15-25, 25-18, 15-25)
Darcy Dodd paced the Greyhounds with 11 kills, while
Nevaeh Rodriquez supplied nine kills, and
Halle Sanders finished with eight kills.
As for the setters, both
Angelina Sanchez and
Cayla Reyes finished with double doubles. Sanchez posted a team best 19 assists, along with 10 digs. Reyes posted 10 assists and 10 digs during the contest.
Imahni Brown anchored the defense with a match high 27 digs in the four sets. Sanders reached double-figures with 12 each, while Sanchez and Reyes had ten each.
For blocking, Sanders provided a solo block and an assist.
Randi Crandall,
Brianna Hernandez, and Rodriquez each had one block assist.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORES
- Sanchez tallied a new best for assists with 19, finishing the match with their first double-double of the season. Reyes grabbed their 5th double-double of the season, leading the Greyhounds.
- Brown recorded a new season high for digs with 27, as Rodriquez hit a single season best for kills with 10.
- Eastern returns to Portales, N.M. for its next match, as #9 West Texas A&M visit ENMU on Saturday, Oct. 12. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
