PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball (4-1) squeezed out a 65-62 victory over Adams State (3-3) on Tuesday evening at Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena.

Ishuana Hunter finished with a game high 20 points, finishing 8-13 from the field with seven rebounds and six steal in 30 minutes from the bench.
Jayla Smith supplied an important nine points and nine rebounds off the bench.
Aside from the big stat line from Hunter, Eastern got important contributions from
Tatiana Platonova (7 pts, 6 rbs),
Jaz Salon (6 pts, 5 asts), and
Abbi Holder (7 pts, 3-4 FG).
Trailing by six points in the 1
st quarter with two minutes left, the Greyhounds flipped the scoreboard with a 13-0 streak to end the period. From then the Greyhounds didn't relinquish their lead throughout the rest of the game. Adams State did bring it to one possession a few times in the 4
th quarter, using a 12-0 run to set the score at 55-53 ENMU. In the final five minutes, the Greyhounds held strong defensively while hitting a handful of key free throws as the teams largest lead was just four down the stretch.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- Eastern have now beaten the Grizzlies for the fourth consecutive time, the longest winning streak in series history. ENMU now holds a 7-6 record against ADSU. Eastern beat the Grizzlies on home court for the first time since 2006.
- Hunter tallied a season best 20 points on the night, while Smith pulled down a personal best nine rebounds in the game. Hunter's six steals during the game was a lifetime best for the Greyhounds, as well as a single-game high for this season.
- The Greyhounds bench outscored Adams State 43-11 during the game, while the Grizzlies had the edge in the paint (36-24).
- From the field the Greyhounds finished shooting 41.2% from the floor (21-51), while hitting 42.9% of three pointers (3-7), and 71.4% at the foul line (20-28).
- ENMU now turn their attention to its first conference game of the season on Saturday, November 23, against West Texas A&M. The LSC clash is set to begin at 1 p.m at Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena.
