PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Baseball scored 12 runs over the first five innings to coast to a 12-6 victory over New Mexico Highlands, 12-6, on Sunday afternoon at Greyhound Baseball Field. With the victory, ENMU takes a sweep of the two-game set with the Cowboys. ENMU now stands at 11-11 on the season, while NMHU drop to 4-14.
The Greyhounds piled on seven runs over the first two innings, with an RBI single from
Willie Ponce scoring
Demetrio Archuleta to start the score. A wild pitch scored a run for the Greyhounds to conclude the first, but ENMU tack on five runs in the second frame.
Rutger Poiry started the inning with a double as ENMU loaded the bases with no outs. After a run scored on a wild pitch, Archuleta hit an infield single to score a run, then Ponce picked up their second RBI of the game on a hit-by-pitch. ENMU completed the big inning with two runs scoring from an error.

Luciano Terilli continued the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the third inning, while two runs came across in the 4
th inning for ENMU to go up 10-0.

th run. ENMU concluded their scoring in the 5
th inning, as a Ponce double brought home a run and Preston singled home the team's 12
th run.

New Mexico Highlands did pick up six consolation runs over the final four frames, scoring three runs in the 6
th and three runs in the 8
th. Three hits and a pair of walks led to the runs during the sixth frame, while NMHU scored three runs with two outs from three walks and three singles in the 8
th inning. ENMU secured the finale three outs in the 9
th inning, taking a 12-6 victory.

Austin Dunn, Noah Rodriguez, and Anthony Gonzalez also took the rubber for ENMU.
- For the Cowboys, starter Andrew Baltazar is hit with the loss after seven runs scored over 1.1 innings. John Slape, Justin Huffman, Hunter VanCurler, and Jac Domonic all took the mound for NMHU, with Van Curler and Dominic having scoreless outings.
