SILVER CITY, N.M. – Despite keeping every set within three points, Eastern New Mexico Volleyball (3-10, 0-2 LSC) dropped a LSC clash in straight sets against Western New Mexico (5-8, 1-1 LSC) at Drag's Court on Saturday afternoon.
WNMU 3, ENMU 0 (22-25, 22-25, 24-26)
Darcy Dodd led the Greyhounds on both sides of the ball, posting a team best 12 kills, while adding 13 digs to lead ENMU.
Sophia Valdez accounted for 11 kills during the match, holding an efficient .389 hitting percentage.
For assists,
Cayla Reyes led the Greyhounds with 18 overall, while
Angelina Sanchez supplied 15 helpers during the three sets.
Behind Dodd for digs,
Imahni Brown finished with eight and
Halle Sanders supplied seven. Sanders provided seven kills during the match.
Randi Crandall provided a team high three total blocks, with a solo block and two block assists. Sanders and
Brianna Hernandez both finished with two block assists at the net.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORES
- Dodd collected their 4th double-double of the season, the second time this season in just three sets.
- Sanchez supplied a career best 15 assists in the match, while Reyes hit double figures for assists in 13 consecutive matches.
- ENMU now look to refocus, as they return home to face Lubbock Christian as part of homecoming weekend on Friday, Oct. 4. First serve from Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena is set for 6 p.m. against the Chaps.
