PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball (12-5, 7-4 LSC) dropped a home game against Western New Mexico (1-14, LSC 1-10) on Saturday afternoon at Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena, 81-76.

Nataya Lockett finished with a game high 26 points (9-18 FG, 7-8 FT) from the bench. Lockett also grabbed six rebounds and led the team with four steals.
Abbi Holder reached double figures with 11 points, finishing 7-10 at the foul line.
Daci Smith and
Jaz Salon were both the next highest scorers with nine points each, while
Jayla Smith pulled down a team best 11 rebounds.
The Greyhounds led after the first half, but the Mustangs scored 52 points in the second half, compared to Eastern's 46 points. WNMU shot 60.0% in the second half, including 9-12 from the field in the 4
th quarter and went 11-14 at the foul line in the final period (19-23 during the game, 82.6%). On the flip side, ENMU struggled at the foul line, finishing 18-31 (58.1%) overall during the contest.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- The Mustangs won the battle on the glass, out-rebounding the Greyhounds 47-40. The Greyhounds forced 23 turnovers, but WNMU out-dueled the Hounds for paint scoring (42-30).
- Eastern struggled from the field, finishing 25-72 (34.7%) during the game. From behind the arc, the Greyhounds connected on eight triples (8-27, 29.6%). The Mustangs shot an efficient 49.2% from the floor (30-61), while hitting just two three-pointers (2-13, 15.4%).
- Lockett improved their season high for scoring in back-to-back games (26 pts vs WNMU). Lockett also elevated the single game high by a Greyhound this season for scoring. J. Smith secured double-double digit rebounds in back-to-back games for the first time this season (11 vs SRSU 1/16, 11 vs WNMU 1/18). Holder recorded a career-high for both free throws made and attempted (7-10 FT).
- Eastern begin a four-game road swing starting in Tyler, Texas to face #13 UT Tyler. The teams meet on Thursday, January 23, with the first tip scheduled for 4 p.m. (MST) / 5 p.m. (CST).
