PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball (12-6, 7-5 LSC) fell on the road against #9 UT Tyler (16-2, 11-1 LSC), 75-59, at Louise Herrington Patriot Center on Thursday evening.

Nataya Lockett led the Greyhounds in both scoring and rebounding, securing a game high 21 points (3-8 3PT FG, 8-9 FT) and eight rebounds (6 off, 2 def).
Jayla Smith supplied 15 points on 6-11 shooting in just 18 minutes.
Kaitlyn Edmondson grabbed five rebounds from the bench, while Lockett and
Tatiana Platonova each had three assists to lead the team.
UT Tyler took an early lead in the 1
st quarter and didn't look back going on a 9-0 run to take a 11-4 lead. The Greyhounds trailed by 16 points at the half, as the Patriots shot an efficient 60.8% (17-28) in the opening 20 minutes. UTT led the game in points in the paint (32-18) and points off turnovers (24-10).
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- Eastern won the rebounding battle (32-29), securing 16 offensive rebounds and 16 defensive rebounds. The Greyhounds caused 12 turnovers with four steals, while UTT forced 16 turnovers with eight steals.
- The Greyhounds finished just 20-58 from the field (34.5%), hitting 11 off 31 three-point attempts (35.5%), and hitting 8-9 free throws (88.9%). The Patriots shot a season high 52.0% from the floor (26-50), finishing 10-27 from deep (37.0%, 3rd highest 3PT FG% this season), while going 13-15 at the foul line.
- Lockett reached 20 or more points for the third consecutive game and the fourth time this season. Lockett set several season highs during the game: made three (3), attempted threes (8), made free throws (8), attempted free throws (9), and rebounds (8).
