ENMU women's soccer drops match to Sul Ross State

Women's soccer suffers a hard-fought loss 4-2 after battling Sul Ross State

ALPINE, Texas – Eastern New Mexico women's soccer lost 4-2 to Lone Star Conference foe Sul Ross State on Wednesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds went ahead early in the first half scoring their first goal within eight minutes of the game off a touch from Louise Godden. Godden's goal was assisted from Samantha Wood – her first career assist. The Greyhounds second goal came off another corner with Samantha Wood heading the ball into the back of the net. Louise Godden was credited with the assist.

The two goalkeepers split time on the pitch for ENMU. Rosie Willmott Joyce started the match for the Hounds and Kiley Patalan appeared at the beginning of the second half. Mia Jackson tallied the most shots (4) and shots on goal (2) for Eastern.

The Lobos came back in the second half, scoring four goals unanswered to surpass the Greyhounds. SRSU's goals came in the 61st, 79th, 82nd, and 90th minutes.

The Greyhounds next match will be a home game against West Texas A&M on Saturday, October 12 at 12 p.m. at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium.
