PORTALES, N.M. - Eastern New Mexico women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Angelo State in Lone Star Conference action Wednesday at the at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium.
 
The Greyhounds (0-13-0, 0-10-0 LSC) showed defensive resilience throughout the match, limiting the Belles (7-3-3, 6-2-2 LSC) to just one goal despite Angelo State's offensive pressure. Goalkeeper Rosie Willmott Joyce anchored the defensive effort with nine saves, including crucial stops against Angelo State's Abby James and Graycen Rasmussen in the final minutes of the match.
 
ENMU's offense generated scoring opportunities, with Louise Godden recording two shots and Kaylee Baker adding another shot on goal.
 
The Greyhounds' defensive unit, featuring Simone Brothers, Kaylee Baker, Sophia Jeffres, and Meredith Brown, maintained their composure throughout the contest, working cohesively to limit Angelo State's scoring chances.
 
Eastern will look to build on their defensive performance when they travel to San Antonio for a road conference match against St. Mary's on Sunday, October 26.
