Grizzlies hand Greyhounds first loss of the season in 66-63 thriller

ENMU outrebounded Adams State 42-29 in non-conference loss

ALAMOSA, Colo. - The Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team dropped a close contest to Adams State University 66-63 on Saturday afternoon at Plachy Hall. The Greyhounds now stand at 1-1 overall on the season.

Chloe Dallas led the Greyhounds with a dominant performance, scoring 17 points while grabbing a team-high 17 rebounds, including eight offensive boards. The forward shot efficiently, going 7-for-17 from the field and 3-for-4 from the free-throw line.

Julieta Ceja contributed 13 points in 25 minutes of action, connecting on 5-of-9 field goal attempts, including a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. Ceja added five rebounds and two assists to her stat line.

Nataya Lockett finished with 10 points, going 2-for-12 from the field but making her mark at the free-throw line by hitting 6-of-7 attempts. The senior added four rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 20 minutes of play.

Shay Moseberry provided a spark off the bench, scoring 11 points in 18 minutes. The sharpshooter went 3-for-7 from the field, with all but one attempt coming from three-point range where she connected on 3-of-6 shots.

The Greyhounds led 27-24 at halftime but Adams State outscored ENMU 42-36 in the second half. ENMU shot 32.8% from the field for the game while Adams finished at 44.7%. The Hounds dominated the boards, grabbing 42 compared to the Grizzlies 29.

Eastern New Mexico will look to bounce back when they travel to face Oklahoma Baptist on Tuesday, November 18. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
