Moseberry goes for 26 points in 68-47 win at UT Dallas

ENMU has won six straight games and remains unbeaten in conference play

RICHARDSON, Texas - Senior guard Shay Moseberry exploded for 26 points on 7-of-13 shooting from three-point range to lead the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team to a 68-47 victory over UT Dallas Thursday evening in Richardson, Texas, marking the first meeting between the two programs.
 
Moseberry stuffed the stat sheet with 26 points, seven three-pointers, four steals, four rebounds and three blocks in 35 minutes of action. The senior guard shot 8-of-17 from the field and went a perfect 3-of-3 from the free throw line while committing just two turnovers.

Moseberry is the first Greyhound to make more than 5 three's in a game since Abbi Holder did so last season against Oklahoma Christian on December 5, 2024.
 
Junior forward Julieta Ceja added 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting, including 5-of-7 from the charity stripe, while dishing out three assists in 32 minutes. Aaliyah Smith provided 10 points off the bench with a pair of steals and assists while teammate Nataya Lockett contributed seven points, four assists and two steals.
 
The Greyhounds shot 37.0 percent (20-of-54) from the field, including 41.7 percent (10-of-24) from three-point range. ENMU converted 18-of-23 free throw attempts (78.3 percent) and outrebounded UT Dallas 40-30. The Greyhounds forced 21 turnovers while committing 18, converting those miscues into 15 points.
 
ENMU's defense held UT Dallas to 32.7 percent shooting (17-of-52) from the field and just 26.3 percent (5-of-19) from three-point range. The Comets made 8-of-11 free throws (72.7 percent) and scored 20 points in the paint.
 
The Greyhounds led 18-8 after the first quarter and extended the advantage to 35-24 at halftime. UT Dallas outscored ENMU 13-10 in the third quarter before the Hounds poured on a 23-12 fourth quarter and 68-47 win.
 
For UT Dallas, Addy Self led the Comets with 16 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Clara Paynter added nine points and grabbed six rebounds.
 
ENMU will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, for a pair of neutral-site games next weekend. Eastern will face Western Washington on Friday before taking on Simon Fraser on Saturday. Both games will be played at the CSN Event Center.
