LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The Eastern New Mexico women's basketball team fell to New Mexico State in overtime, 52-48, Monday evening at the Pan American Center.

ENMU (7-4, 3-0 Lone Star Conference) appeared poised to snap a 19-game losing streak against the Aggies, holding a 38-35 advantage with under 10 seconds remaining in regulation. However, NMSU (4-8, 0-0 CUSA) connected on a three-pointer with just 0.9 seconds left on the clock to force overtime, where the Aggies outscored the Greyhounds 14-10 to secure the victory.

The heartbreaking finish marked the second consecutive overtime contest for Eastern, which defeated Simon Fraser last weekend in extra time in its previous outing.

Junior forward
Tatiana Platonova and junior guard
Jaz Salon each led the Hounds with 10 points. Platonova added seven rebounds in 33 minutes of action, shooting 4-of-10 from the field and 2-of-4 from three-point range. Salon provided an efficient offensive spark off the bench, connecting on 4-of-6 from the floor and 1-of-2 from beyond the arc in 18 minutes.

Junior forward
Julieta Ceja added five points and a game-high 12 rebounds in 30 minutes. Ceja also contributed an assist and a steal while shooting 2-of-5 from the field and a perfect 1-of-1 from three-point range.

Junior guard
Aaliyah Smith added seven points, five assists and three rebounds in 27 minutes, while senior guard
Shay Moseberry chipped in six points, eight rebounds and three assists in 34 minutes of work.

The Greyhounds struggled offensively throughout the contest, shooting just 30.6 percent (19-of-62) from the field, including 28.6 percent (8-of-28) from three-point range and 25.0 percent (2-of-8) from the free-throw line. ENMU was outrebounded 50-49 and committed 29 turnovers compared to 28 for the Aggies.

New Mexico State was led by Imani Warren, who recorded a game-high 18 points on 5-of-18 shooting while adding 4 rebounds, four assists and two steals in 37 minutes. Lucia Yenes contributed nine points and six rebounds, while Senoj Jones added eight points off the bench.

The Aggies shot 28.6 percent (18-of-63) from the field, 20.0 percent (3-of-15) from three-point range and 56.5 percent (13-of-23) from the charity stripe.

In overtime, New Mexico State outscored Eastern New Mexico 14-10 to secure the exhibition victory. The Aggies connected on 4-of-6 shots in the extra period while the Greyhounds managed just 4-of-8 from the field which included a pair of crucial turnovers in the final minutes of play.

ENMU recorded 22 points in the paint, 15 points off turnovers and 13 fast-break points while holding a 17-12 advantage in bench scoring.

The defeat extended Eastern New Mexico's all-time series deficit against New Mexico State to 0-20, as the Greyhounds have never defeated the Aggies in the 20 meetings between the programs.

Sunday's exhibition contest will not count toward ENMU's overall record, which remains at 7-4 overall and 3-0 in Lone Star Conference play. The Greyhounds have won three consecutive conference games and six of their last seven contests overall.

Eastern New Mexico will return to Lone Star Conference action this weekend when it travels to Alpine, Texas face Sul Ross State on January 2 followed by Western New Mexico in Silver City on January 4.
