Eastern New Mexico Surges Past St. Edwards, 60-52

ENMU trailed by as many as eight in the second half during comeback win

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Woman's Basketball (18-8, 13-7 LSC) took the home victory on Thursday afternoon, 60-52, against St. Edward's University (11-17, 7-12 LSC) at Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena.

Ishuana Hunter led the Greyhounds during the evening with a total of 14 points, while Nataya Lockett contributed 11 points. The game was a battle between the teams until the Greyhounds pulled ahead in the second half with their free throws. Tatiana Platonova shot 100% with six for six free throws.

Kaitlyn Edmondson led the team with nine rebounds, while Hunter following with six. Julieta Ceja also made contributions with six points and six rebounds.

Both teams were going head-to-head for the win tonight while trading points back and forth. The teams were neck and neck trading off the lead until the Greyhounds ultimately pulled ahead in the fourth quarter. With the help of three free throws from Victoria Barrera, ENMU pulled the lead and stayed ahead. The rest of the team contributed to the win at the end of the game through their free throws and defensive plays.
