PORTALES, N.M. – The culmination of an excellent senior season for
Shacie Marr sits at the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) in Casper, Wyo. Before Marr competes at nationals, please read the Three Barrel Preview:
1.) All-Around: Marr made all, but one short go during the 2024-25 season. The competition was some of the fiercest in collegiate rodeo as ENMU's top cowgirl battled against hundreds each week. Her final campaign representing Eastern New Mexico as a student-athlete saw her finish second in the region in all-around with 848.33 points. She finished fifth in goat tying, sixth in barrels, and sixth in breakaway. Marr finished atop the all-around at three different rodeos this year.
2.) Shacie's Takeaways: Shacie Marr has prepared for the last two months in preparation for this week's festivities in Wyoming. The senior assured confidence when speaking to her this week saying "I feel good" and "It's exciting getting to compete in two different events." Marr reminisced on her previous trip to nationals as a freshman. The biggest growth for her since her last appearance at nationals is with her mentality and approach to the events. Marr said she is ready to "trust God's plan for me."
3.) When to Watch: Marr is set to compete in both breakaway and goat tying this week. She will have three runs in each event. Breakaway will run June 15 (Sunday – Matinee), June 17 (Tuesday – Slack), and June 19 (Thursday – Performance). Goat tying will go June 16 (Monday – Slack), June 17 (Tuesday – Slack), and June 19 (Thursday – Performance). All updated information will be available on the CNFR website.
