LUBBOCK, Texas – The Eastern New Mexico volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Friday at the 2025 MCM Chap Invite to Fort Lewis and CSU Pueblo at the Rip Griffin Center in Lubbock, Texas.
"We are working through the process of rebuilding and responding really well to these loses," stated first-year head coach
Karli Bustos. "The next phase is to figure out how to play to win or inflict our will on our opponents at the end of the match. I think we are really close to our first win and the improvement and competitiveness in each match has been significant."
FLC 3, ENMU 2 (27-25, 25-23, 25-17, 13-25, 14-16)
CSU Pueblo 3, ENMU 0 (23-25, 24-26, 19-25)
- Three Greyhounds finished with double-digit kills as Valdez (15), Bartlett (11), and Linden Pennings (11) led the ENMU attack.
- Flores dished out 24 assists and Jayla Yoder added ten.
- Brown led the Greyhounds defensively with 14 digs while senior Nevaeh Rodriquez recorded 12.
- The Greyhounds recorded more kills than the ThunderWolves, 49-40.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Flores is the first Greyhound to dish out more than 30 assists in a match since Carla Reyes in 2024.
- The match between the Greyhounds and the ThunderWolves featured 31 ties and 14 lead changes throughout the five sets.
- ENMU had fives sets come within 2 points in eight total sets played today.
The Greyhounds finish the Chap Invite tomorrow morning against host team Lubbock Christian. First serve is scheduled for 8 a.m. (MT) / 9 a.m. (CT) at the Rip Griffin Center.
