Northwestern Oklahoma State takes match against women's soccer

Aja Gonzales made ten saves for the greyhounds against the rangers

ALVA, Okla. – Eastern New Mexico women's soccer kicked off their season with a road game against Northwestern Oklahoma State, falling 1-0 on Thursday evening.

The Rangers scored their lone goal in the first half of the game off a shot by Jenna Mills on the right side of the box. The Greyhounds finished the game with ten saves by goalkeeper Aja Gonzales, keeping the home side from scoring any more goals.

The Rangers did receive a yellow card in the second half allowing the Greyhounds a free kick, however it did not result in a made goal. Both teams put up a fight, ultimately leading to the victory for NWOSU.

The Greyhounds next match will be against New Mexico Highlands on Saturday, September 6 at 12 p.m. (MST) in Las Vegas, N.M.
