PORTALES, N.M. - Eastern New Mexico softball swept Cameron in a Lone Star Conference doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Greyhound Softball Field, defeating the Aggies 9-5 in game one and 8-2 in game two.
The sweep marks just the second time in program history that the Greyhounds (6-5, 2-2 LSC) have swept Cameron (6-7, 0-4 LSC). The last time ENMU accomplished the feat was in 2023. Despite the sweep, Cameron still holds a commanding 37-8-1 advantage in the all-time series.
Game 1: ENMU 9, Cameron 5
Talia Martin provided the offensive fireworks in game one, launching a grand slam in the bottom of the third inning to give Eastern a 7-0 lead. Martin finished 2-for-3 with four RBI in the contest.
Christina Meneses also went deep in the third inning, belting a home run that extended the Greyhounds advantage to 9-0. Meneses went 2-for-2 on the day with two runs scored and three RBI.
Natalie Rodarte had a perfect day at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored.
Marissa Rodriguez (2-0) earned the win for Eastern New Mexico, surrendering six hits and two earned runs while striking out two batters in 3.2 innings of work.

Jordan Rivera closed out the game with one inning pitched, recording one strikeout while walking three batters.
Emily Marsh added a double and drove in two runs for ENMU, while
Giazza Lopez contributed a single in the win.
"It was great to see our offense create a strong spark in the third inning" commented head coach
Amanda Fefel. "Christina, Natalie, and Talia had a great game at the plate as well getting it done for us in multiple aspects. Although we had to use three different arms to get the win, each pitcher came in and was effective for us to keep Cameron off balance."
Game 2: ENMU 8, Cameron 2
Cameron struck first in game two, plating two runs in the top of the second inning. However, the Greyhounds responded immediately in the bottom half of the frame. Rodarte singled to right field, scoring
Lorissa Scott and
Miranda Guillen off a Cameron fielding error to tie the game at 2-2.
Eastern New Mexico seized control from there, adding three runs in the third inning, two more in the fourth, and one in the sixth while shutting down the Aggies' offense the rest of the way.
Meneses continued her hot hitting, going 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a run scored. Scott also recorded a multi-hit performance, finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Rodarte drove in two runs in the contest, while
Samantha Parisi,
Ana Paula Oquita, Guillen and Martin (2 RBI) each recorded a hit for the Greyhounds.
Guillen (3-1) earned the complete-game victory for Eastern New Mexico, becoming the first Greyhound to pitch a complete game since she accomplished the feat last season on April 27, 2025, at Sul Ross State (W, 11-1). The El Paso, Texas native scattered five hits and allowed two earned runs while striking out eight Cameron batters in seven innings of work.
The Greyhounds finished with nine hits and capitalized on two Cameron errors in the victory. Eastern held the Aggies to just two runs on five hits.
"Miranda threw a great game limiting their offense to just two runs ina full seven" Fefel continued. "She came in clutch in multiple innings when they were producing some momentum. This was a great team win all around - it was good to see multiple players produce at the plate."
Eastern New Mexico has a quick turnaround and hosts nationally ranked Oklahoma Christian on Sunday afternoon for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. at Greyhound Softball Field.
