KINGSVILLE, Texas - Eastern New Mexico softball dropped a pair of Lone Star Conference games to Texas A&M-Kingsville on Sunday afternoon, falling 9-6 in game one before being shut out 8-0 in the nightcap.
GAME 1: TAMUK 9, ENMU 6Â
In the opening game,
Christina Meneses and
Talia Martin each recorded two hits to pace the Greyhounds' offense.
Natalie Rodarte,
Giazza Lopez,
Marissa Rodriguez,
Ana Paula Oquita,
Madison Begaye, and
Seneca Aarstad each tallied one hit in the loss. Oquita and Rodriguez led ENMU with two RBI apiece.

The Greyhounds struck first in the top of the first inning when Rodriguez lifted a sacrifice fly to plate the game's opening run. However, Texas A&M-Kingsville answered emphatically in the bottom half, erupting for eight runs to take a commanding 8-1 advantage.

Both teams scored in the second inning as Martin launched a solo home run over the right field fence, cutting the deficit to 9-2.

Eastern New Mexico continued to battle, scoring two runs in the top of the fifth inning and adding two more in the top of the seventh frame. Despite the late rally, the Greyhounds could not overcome the seven-run deficit as the Javelinas held on for the 9-6 victory.

In the circle, Rodriguez moved to 9-3 on the season after allowing six runs on four hits.
Angelina Rubalcava pitched 5.2 innings in relief, surrendering three runs on two hits while recording two strikeouts.
GAME 2: TAMUK 8, ENMU 0 (5 inn.)
In game two, Texas A&M-Kingsville jumped on the Greyhounds early and never relented. The Javelinas poured in four runs in the opening frame, added three more in the bottom of the third, and tacked on one run in the bottom of the fourth to complete the 8-0 shutout via the run-rule.

Aarstad and Meneses recorded the only hits for Eastern New Mexico in the loss.

Jordan Rivera earned the start in the circle for game two, allowing four runs on one hit with two walks. Lopez pitched 2.2 innings of work in relief, giving up four runs on five hits with one strikeout.
Miranda Guillen threw the final 1.0 inning and recorded one strikeout while allowing zero hits.

Eastern's defense surrendered two errors in the loss.

The Greyhounds will close out the 2026 season next week with a pair of home games at the Greyhound Softball Field in Portales. ENMU will host UT Permian Basin on Friday before welcoming nationally ranked Angelo State on Sunday for senior day.
