ENMU Volleyball takes the victory over SRSU

The Greyhounds fight its way back to a win

LAREDO, Texas – The Eastern New Mexico volleyball team erased a two-set deficit to claim victory over Sul Ross State 3-2 on Friday evening at the LSC Challenge in Laredo, Texas. The Greyhounds advanced 3-6 on the season, while the Lobos fell to 0-10.
 
"I am proud of the Greyhound's grit tonight," said head coach Karli Bustos. "It wasn't the prettiest win, but we clawed our way back into the match and found a way to win."
 
ENMU 3, SRSU 2 (19-25, 20-25, 25-21, 32-30, 15-10)
The Greyhounds came back from a 2-0 lead from Sul Ross to reverse sweep the Lobos, taking the win for the night. Senior, Sophia Valdez, led the team this evening with 26 kills while recording one ace and nine digs. Sophomore Aspen Misch came into the match earning three aces for the team. There were many key players who contributed to the win for the Hounds, such as Jordan Garcia with 12 digs, Sydney Pipkin with 36 assists, Amya Speller recording 20 kills and four blocks, and freshman Maya Perea earning 10 digs and three aces. The decisive stretch came in the fourth set, where the two sides had several lead changes before ENMU pulled out a 32-30 win, carrying that momentum into a 15-10 win in the fifth set.
