PORTALES, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico volleyball team opened its home slate with its first conference win, sweeping Texas A&M International at the Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena this afternoon.

Karli Bustos stated, "The Greyhounds attacked the week and earned this win each day at practice along with all of the extra reps they got." "Our goal was to pass the ball well, minimize our errors, and attack open spaces. I felt like we executed and I am excited to see them back in action tomorrow!"

ENMU 3, TAMIU 0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-19)
Amya Speller was unstoppable at the net today, leading the team with 13 kills on only 17 swings without an error. Speller hit a .765 on the match, bringing the team attack percentage to .372.
Aaliyah Butler added nine kills on .389 hitting,
Sophia Valdez contributed eight, and
Addison Bartlett was nearly perfect with seven kills on 12 attempts, hitting a .500.

Sydney Pipkin led the offense with 34 assists, maneuvering the ball as the Greyhounds piled up 44 kills against only nine errors. Defensively,
Catalina Gutierrez and
Jordan Garcia led the night with eight digs each.

 The Greyhounds never trailed in the match, racing to a 25-17 win in the first set and closing out the match with the next two sets. ENMU held TAMIU to a .118 hitting percentage while completing only nine errors.

With this being the first conference match of the season for the Hounds, this moves Eastern to a 1-0 record in conference play.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- TAMIU still holds the overall record against Eastern, but this win brings the record up to 3-5.
The Greyhounds are back in action tomorrow, starting at 2 p.m. at the Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena.
