LAS VEGAS, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team headed on the road to participate in the Meadow City Classic in Las Vegas, N.M. The Greyhounds dropped two matches on day one of the classic to Northwestern Oklahoma and Southeastern Oklahoma State.

NWOSU 3, ENMU 2 (20-25, 13-25, 25-17, 25-10, 11-15)
Sophia Valdez led the team with 19 kills and three blocks for the game this morning.
Sydney Pipkin was a key player for the Greyhounds during this match up, recording 32 assists, four aces, and eight digs. The Hounds put up a great fight after falling in the first two sets to then coming back, winning the next two sets, and taking the Rangers all the way to the fifth set. As a team, Eastern played a great game, scoring 74 points, nine more than Northwester. The Hounds posted a .261 while the Rangers posted only a .241 on the match.

SE 3, ENMU 1 (25-18, 18-25, 23-25, 23-25)
ENMU faced the Storm this afternoon for the team's second game of the day. Eastern started the match off strong winning the first set, then stumbling the next three sets. The Greyhounds managed to keep the score close each set and make Southeastern fight for the win.
Sophia Valdez led the team for the second time today with 17 kills.
Addison Bartlett followed with eight and
Amya Speller with seven.
Sydney Pipkin led once again with 27 assists and seven digs. Freshman
Alaina Kopf came into this game strong with three aces and leading with 11 digs while also recording six assists.
