LAS VEGAS, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team splits the last day of the Meadow City Classic on Saturday, falling to Western New Mexico and sweeping New Mexico Highlands.
Sophia Valdez earns All-Tourney for the weekend away at Las Vegas.

"We saw some major building blocks over the weekend, especially on Saturday," stated head coach
Karli Bustos. "We were able to recover after three hard losses and get a road win against the home team, NMHU."

Sophomore
Addison Bartlett stepped up for the Greyhounds this match, leading the team with 11 kills.
Sophia Valdez followed with nine and
Aaliyah Butler with six. Freshman
Sydney Pipkin played a key role for Eastern, leading with 25 assists, 12 digs, and two aces. Freshman,
Natalie Ceniceros recorded one block and Maggie coats recorded one ace.
Maya Perea earned nine digs and
Catalina Gutierrez followed with six.

ENMU 3, NMHU 0 (25-20, 29-27, 25-20)
The Greyhounds played an amazing match against the home team New Mexico Highlands. The Greyhounds swept the Cowgirls in three straight sets. All of the Greyhounds played an amazing match.
Amya Speller led the team with 15 kills,
Addison Bartlett led with four blocks and three aces,
Maya Perea led with 12 digs, and finally
Sydney Pipkin led with 36 assists. Bartlett was a key all around player, recording 10 kills and 10 digs along with her aces and blocks. The team totaled 48 kills averaging a .261.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- ENMU currently leads the all-time series against WNMU 36-20, adding another win to the Mustangs.
- Eastern leads the all-time series against NMHU 54-21 with one tie between the teams.

The Greyhounds head to the LSC Challenge on Friday, Sept. 11 to face Sul Ross State.
