PORTALES, N.M. —
Tori Hendrickson had two of the Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team's four shots on goal against fifth-ranked Angelo State (11-1-1; LSC 5-1), but the Greyhounds (4-9-1; LSC 0-6) dropped a 1-0 heartbreaker. The Lone Star Conference match up was played on Friday afternoon at ENMU Soccer Field.
The teams played to a stalemate for most of the first half, with each team taking five shots. Haley Mendel broke through for the only goal of the contest with about seven minutes left in the period. The Rambelles held a 9-2 edge in second half shots, but were unable to add to their lead.
Karissa Stinson made both of her saves in the second half, while ASU's Shantel Wittke had four saves in the contest. The Rambelles enjoyed a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
The Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team will conclude its home schedule for the 2015 season on Sunday, against Midwestern State. The contest is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. MT.
