SAN ANGELO, TEXAS — Sophomore goalkeeper
Karissa Stinson made three saves, but the Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team (3-6-1; LSC 0-3) dropped a 1-0 heartbreaker to sixth-ranked Angelo State (9-1-1; LSC 3-1) in Lone Star Conference action at ASU Soccer Field.
Stinson made two saves in the first half, as the Rambelles took 15 shots but was limited in scoring opportunities by the Greyhound defense. Sierra Anderson tallied the only goal of the game with 7:25 left in regulation after she received a cross pass from Tiffany Dang. Anderson currently is second in the LSC with seven goals.
Eastern's strong defensive effort limited Angelo State's scoring opportunities, despite the Rambelles holding a 23-1 edge in total shots.
Tori Hendrickson took Eastern's only shot of the game at the 59:25 mark and it was saved by Shantel Wittke.
The Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team will open its final home stand of the season on Friday against Texas A&M-Commerce. The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. MT.
