PORTALES, N.M. — After an extremely strong performance against NCAA Division I New Mexico State, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (4-4) will play in the Sodexo Tip-Off Classic, hosted by Seattle Pacific. The two games at the classic will mark the first time the Greyhounds have faced opponents from the states of Washington and Oregon.
Eastern will tipoff against Seattle Pacific, at 8 p.m. MT, at the Brougham Pavilion. A Saturday contest against Concordia will follow at 5:30 p.m.
Kassandra Harris has emerged as a scoring threat for the Hounds and has reached double figures in five of her last six games. Last week at New Mexico State, she scored 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to notch her first double double.
Sarah Stinnett has averaged 11 points and 6.5 rebounds over the last two games, while
Mikaehla Connor and
Briana White have contributed six points each over that span.
For the season, Eastern is being outscored by a slim 66.8-65.8 point margin, and outrebounded by a 42.6-41.4 margin. The Hounds have been strong defensively and are out blocking their opponents by a 32-25 margin, with
Eliza Martinez leading the way, with 11 shot rejections.

Eastern rallied to within two points, but the Flying Queens pulled away to snap ENMU's three-game win streak. In contrast, the Hounds got off to a quick start at New Mexico State and held a lead after the first quarter. The Hounds stayed within a single point until late in the third quarter, before the Aggies pulled away.
Seattle Pacific opened the December with wins over Western Oregon (79-58) and Concordia (55-46). The wins improved the Falcons to 4-3 for the season.
After opening the month with a 56-44 win over St. Martin's University, Concordia dropped games to Seattle Pacific (46-55) and Boise State (77-84). The game against Boise State was an exhibition and the Cavalier's record entering the weekend is 2-6. Concordia will play University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday.

The Greyhounds will open a three-game home stand on December 31, against Northern New Mexico. The game originally scheduled for a 2 p.m. tipoff, has been moved to noon MT.
