Women's basketball adds Destiny Bragman as assistant coach

Bragman joins ENMU after two-year stint at Eastern Illinois

PORTALES, N.M. – Head coach Blake Huber has announced the hiring of Destiny Bragman who will be joining Eastern New Mexico women's basketball coaching staff, bringing a strong background in coaching, player development, and program building throughout multiple collegiate levels.

Bragman most recently served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Eastern Illinois, where she helped guide the program to an 18–12 record and a 10–0 start in Ohio Valley Conference play during the 2024–25 season. The Panthers led the conference in scoring defense and field goal percentage defense while producing both the OVC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.

"We are thrilled to welcome Coach Destiny to our Greyhound family," Huber commented. "She brings a great level of energy and presence and will be a phenomenal asset moving forward for our program. Anytime you get a coach that has played D1 and coached D1 - it's a home run hire."

Prior to her time at EIU, Bragman spent the 2023–24 season at New Mexico Highlands, where she served as an assistant coach and contributed as an assistant athletic director, assisting with operations and facilities.

Before NMHU, Bragman was the head coach at Trinidad State College from 2019–23, where she led a turnaround of the program, increasing win totals significantly and earning NJCAA Region 9 Coach of the Year honors in 2021–22. She also gained experience as an assistant coach at Western Colorado and previously at Trinidad State, contributing to record-setting performances and postseason appearances.

"I'm incredibly grateful to join the Eastern New Mexico women's basketball staff," Bragman stated.

As a student-athlete, Bragman played two seasons at TSC and later at Stephen F. Austin, where she was part of two Southland Conference championship teams and a Women's Basketball Invitational runner-up finish. She earned her bachelor's degree from SFA.

A native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Bragman returns to the region with a proven track record of developing talent, building competitive programs, and contributing to championship-level success.

"Coming back to New Mexico makes this opportunity even more special for me. I'm excited for the future here in Portales, Go Greyhounds!" Bragman added.
