PORTALES, N.M. — The Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (4-2) has heated up entering the final month of non-conference play. With their first three-game win streak of the season, the Hounds have a 4-2 record, but will be tested over the next few days by Wayland Baptist and NCAA Division I New Mexico State (6-2).
On Saturday, the Greyhounds will tipoff against Wayland Baptist at 4 p.m. MT, at Clovis' Rock Staubus Gymnasium. On Monday, Eastern will head to Las Cruces, to take on the New Mexico State Lobos at the Pan American Center, with a 7 p.m. tipoff time.
On the three-game win streak, Eastern has outscored the opposition by a 70.7-58.3 point margin and held a .394-.335 edge in shooting percentage. Quick starts have been a key part of the Hounds' run. Eastern has outscored the opposition by a 51-31 margin in the first quarter of the last three games, followed by a 61-34 differential in the second quarter. Over the last three contests,
Briana White has scored a team-best 9.3 point per game, with eight players contributing at least six points per game.
Eliza Martinez has paced Eastern with six rebounds per game, while
Kassandra Harris has been close behind, with 5.7 caroms per contest.

Briana White paced ENMU with 12 points, while
Johna McClelland finished with eight points and seven rebounds. Eastern outscored WNMU by a 36-16 margin in the paint and limited the Mustangs to six points in both the second and third quarters. The performance earned
Sarah Stinnett Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Wayland Baptist split a pair of games, with a 67-56 win at Bacone College, on Saturday. Last Thursday, the Flying Queens dropped a 63-58 decision to John Brown.
After cruising to a 6-0 start, New Mexico State suffered setbacks to Arizona (68-64) and Texas-El Paso (71-65), last week. The loss to the Miners snapped a 12-game home winning streak, dating back to last December.
