PORTALES, N.M. — Despite having three players scoring double digits, the Eastern New Mexico University men's basketball team (7-16, 0-10 LSC) came up short against Cameron University (11-11, 3-7 LSC) Wednesday night, falling at home 55-47.

John Gilliam (Jr., San Bernardino, Calif. / Upland HS / Chaffey College) led the Greyhounds with 17 points on 6-of-15 shooting.  Chris Wyms (Jr., Carson, Calif. / King Drew Medical Magnet HS / Cerritos College) and Domingo Lawrence (Jr., Union City, Calif. / Community Charter Early College HS/ Stoneridge Prep) added 11 and 10 points respectively.  The Aggie's Henry Desmond led all scorers with 21 points.

Eastern came out slow to start the first half, but managed to survive a 19-to-11 run by the Aggies and hold a two point lead going into the half, 28-26.  After an intense back and forth second half, the Greyhounds found themselves holding a two point lead with 5:45 left in the game.

Both teams started to struggle shooting from the floor after that, but after several unfortunate turnovers by Eastern, Cameron started to build a lead and with too little time on the clock, the Aggies would take the game in the closing minutes, 55-47.

Eastern struggled from behind the arc, going 3-for-21 from deep.  While the Aggies only went 3-of-9 on three pointers, their 45 percent shooting from the floor, compared to the Greyhounds 32.1 percent, ended up being the deciding factor.

Eastern will travel to Wichita Falls, Texas, Saturday, Feb. 14 to take on Midwestern State University (18-6, 7-3 LSC).  The Greyhounds have dropped six of their last seven games against the Mustangs dating back to 2011.
