PORTALES, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team overcame its second-straight slow start to knock off Texas Woman's University, 3-1 (17-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-21), on Saturday evening at Greyhound Arena in front of 215 fans. The win improves Eastern's record to 10-8 overall and 5-3 in Lone Star Conference play.

Lauren Frye and junior
Andrea Aguilar recorded strong performances for the Greyhounds to lead the comeback bid. Frye tallied 25 kills and hit .417 while Aguilar picked up 30 digs in the winning effort. It was the first 30 dig effort by a member of the Greyhounds this season and the first in four sets since Hayley Couch accomplished the feat against UTPB in 2012.

Alexis Aguirre dished out her third-highest assist total of the season, picking up 35.
Brooklyn Biel,
Courtney Lawson,
Talaitupu Faumui and
Jennifer Martinez all flirted with double-digit kills in the winning effort.

For the second-straight match, Eastern started slowly to fall into an early hole. The Greyhounds committed 10 attack errors in the first, hitting -.022. Behind Frye's big second set, however, the Green and Silver rallied to tie the match at one before the intermission. The senior from Amissville, Va., had 12 kills alone in the second set and was efficient with her shots, hitting .800. Aguilar picked up the defense as well as set up the passing game to help ENMU to a .390 percentage in the frame.

The Greyhounds never trailed in the fourth set as Eastern closed the match with a .222 attack percentage.
