SAN ANGELO, Texas  – The Eastern New Mexico University Women's volleyball team swept Texas A&M-Commerce, 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-22) for the team's first win at the Lone Star Conference Tournament since 2004. The win improves ENMU's record to 19-12 on the season as the 'Hounds go for season win No. 20 tomorrow against either Midwestern State or Angelo State at 6:30 p.m.

Senior
Lauren Frye notched a match-high 18 kills on a .389 attack percentage. The LSC Offensive Player of the Year needs one kill to tie and two to break Christabell Mariner's program record of 1,695. Junior
Brooklyn Biel and senior
Courtney Lawson each went above the 10 kill plateau. Biel had 12 to go along with a blistering .524 attack percentage while Lawson hit .316 with 10 kills in the win.

Alexis Aguirre came one assist shy of her three-match high this season with 28 helpers against the Lions. Senior
Tiana Roebuck dished out 16 dimes. Junior
Andrea Aguilar had 13 digs, but the highlight of the 'Hounds defense came on the block. Junior
Amanda Dietz had four of the team's six blocks to stymie the Lions offense.

Eastern started quickly in the first set, building an 8-3 lead before a 6-1 run by Commerce tied the score. After exchanging points to move the score to 19-19, the 'Hounds closed the set on a 6-1 run to clinch the early lead in the match. Frye had two kills down the stretch and Lawson added an ace to give Eastern a 1-0 edge.

The 'Hounds used 18 kills in the second set and three aces to build a 2-0 lead in the match. In the third and final set, Biel provided the exclamation mark the Green and Silver needed to clinch the first LSC Tournament win since 2004. The Laveen, Ariz., native had the final three kills for Eastern and propelled the Greyhounds to the semifinals.

The Greyhounds are back in action tomorrow evening when it takes on Angelo State or Midwestern State at the Lone Star Conference Tournament. First serve is slated for 6:30 p.m. (MT).
