Gridiron Greyhounds Remain at 21st in AFCA Top 25 Poll

PORTALES, NM — For the third consecutive week, the Eastern New Mexico University football team appeared in the American Football Coaches Association poll. After a stirring victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville. last Saturday, the Greyhounds remained 21st in the poll. With seven wins in their first eight games, the Greyhounds are off to their best start since the 1998 season.

Two weeks ago, the Hounds debuted in the poll at 24th, before moving up to 21st last week. This week, Eastern is joined by fellow LSC competitors Midwestern State (4th) and Texas A&M-Commerce (9th).

With a 2013 Lone Star Conference Championship and back-to-back H.E.A.R.T. of Texas Bowl appearances in 2014 and 2015, the highly-successful Hounds have been in the receiving votes section of the poll many times in the last five years.

The Eastern New Mexico University football team will visit West Liberty University on Thursday. The game will  at 4 p.m. MT.
