PORTALES, NM — This week, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (3-4; LSC 0-2) hit the road looking to snap a two-game skid. Last week, the Greyhounds opened Lone Star Conference play.
On Thursday, the Hounds will tip off at Texas A&M-Commerce at 10 a.m. MT. Saturday's game at Tarleton State, and will begin at 1 p.m.

Over their first seven games, the Hounds were outscored by a slim 59.4-58.6 points-per-game margin. Rebounding was a key for ENMU with a 6.1 per contest differential.
Mikaehla Connor paced Eastern with 9.7 points and 5.7 rebounds, while
Jasmine Hotchkins averaged 9.1 points per game.
Shelby Jones,
Daeshi McCants and
Alivia Lewis each have posted a double double for the Hounds.
In his fifth season, Head Coach
Josh Prock ranks second on the ENMU career win list. Under his direction, Eastern has a 48-68 record, which included the program's third 20-win season and second LSC title.

Texas A&M-Commerce has a 4-4 overall record with a 1-1 mark in league play heading into Thursday's game. The Lions have won three of their last five and split their first two LSC games. Last Thursday, the Lions went overtime for a road win at Cameron.
A&M-Commerce is outscoring its opposition by a 68.1-65.4 points per game average. Brianna Wise leads the team with 15.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. Artaejah Gay averages 13.5 points per game and has blocked 11 shots.
Eastern is 32-28 against Texas A&M-Commerce with a 10-20 mark on the road. The teams split their season-series last year, with each team winning at home. Eastern has won three of the last five meetings between the teams. The Greyhounds last road win in the series came on December 8, 2005, by a 71-67 score.
In last season's win,
Amari Joseph paced five Greyhounds in double figures with 16 points and two steals. Kassandra Harris added 14 points, while
Mikaehla Connor finished with 13 points and two assists.

Tarleton State will host Western New Mexico University on Thursday night and looks to snap a three-game skid. The TexAnns suffered LSC road losses to Midwestern State and Cameron.
The TexAnns are being outscored by a slim 60.7-59.6 margin. Mackenzie Hailey leads Tarleton State with 16.3 points6.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. McKinley Bostad and Katie Webster average 9.6 and 9.1 points, respectively.
Last season, Eastern defeated Tarleton State for the first time since the 2006-07 season and swept the season series. The Hounds 81-76 win in Stephenville marked their first road win over the TexAnns since the 1999-00 season.
Sarina Johnson exploded for 22 points in
ENMU's double-overtime road win last year.
Shelby Jones registered the first double double of her career with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Kassandra Harris and
Jasmine Hotchkins each chipped in 11 points.
Coming Home
After this week's competition, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team will visit
St. Mary's on Saturday, December 16
th. On December 30
th, the Hounds return home to face 2015-16 NCAA Division II National Champion,
Lubbock Christian. The game is scheduled to tipoff at 2 p.m. MT.
