PORTALES, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team put together a dominant performance in a 3-0 win over UTPB (25-12, 25-13, 25-21). ENMU improves to 5-9 on the season and 3-2 in Lone Star Conference play heading into the rivalry matchup with West Texas A&M on Saturday.

Freshman
Jasmine Gannon led a consistent offensive attack, hitting .533 on the match with 10 kills and three blocks. Senior
Brooklyn Biel added nine kills on an identical .533 hitting percentage while sophomore
Sarah Tuioti-Mariner tacked on eight kills for the Hounds. Sophomore
Sadie Phimmasone was a force to be reckoned with in the middle, stuffing six shots by the Falcons on the match. Senior
Andrea Aguilar added 17 digs while freshman
Marissa Ellis snuffed out 13 attacks from UTPB.

Eastern built up a commanding lead early in the first set, opening the match with a 14-3 run. During that stretch, six different Greyhound players recorded kills. Ellis picked up eight of her 13 digs in the opening set while Tuioti-Mariner and Gannon combined for seven kills and Aguilar added a pair of aces.

The Green and Silver never looked back, hitting .626 in the second set to take a 2-0 lead into the half. Ellis, Tuioti-Mariner, Biel and Gannon all added at least three kills in the frame while Aguilar recorded nine digs in the second set alone.

The Falcons made things interesting late in the third set. With ENMU leading 18-12, UTPB strung together a 9-2 run to gain a 21-20 advantage in the closing moments. After four errors and one of
Amanda Dietz's five kills, the Greyhounds secured the victory on a 5-0 run.
