LAWTON, OKLA. —Freshman left fielder
Jennifer McElroy registered two base hits for the Eastern New Mexico University softball team (16-25; LSC 8-15) in Friday's doubleheader, to extend the team's longest consecutive-game hit streak to ten contests. Cameron (24-11; LSC 12-8) took an early lead in the opener and pulled away for an 8-0 win in Lone Star Conference action at McMahon Field. The Greyhound scored twice in the nightcap, but the Aggies held on for a 6-2 win.
McElroy in the Numbers
- McElroy's seventh inning single in the seventh inning of the nightcap extended the team's longest hit streak since a 13-game stretch from Cameron Conrad last season
- The double in the series opener was McElroy's team-leading 13th of the season, she is tied for second in the LSC in that category
- Her hitting streak started on March 23rd at UT Permian Basin
Game 2
- The Aggies scored single runs in the second, third and fifth innings of the nightcap to take a 3-0 lead
- Pitcher Kiana Zerr singled in the third inning to give ENMU its first base runner
- Zerr also drew a walk in the sixth inning
- The Aggies added three runs in the bottom of the sixth for a 6-0 lead
- McElroy and Ashley Lopez had base hits to lead off the Greyhound seventh inning
- Elena Garcia's ground out allowed McElroy to score ENMU's first run
- Samantha Brockman plated Lopez with a pinch-hit single
- Rylee Willmon went the distance for CU to earn the win and struck out five batters

- Bethany Hines allowed two hits and struck out 11 batters in the winning effort for Cameron
