PORTALES, N.M. – Sophomore point guard Zamorye Cox of Eastern New Mexico women's basketball was named to the 2020 All-Lone Star Conference Tournament Team for her stellar performance last week.
 
The Portales, N.M. native was impressive in all facets of the game as she averaged 19.7 points, 6.3 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 3.3 steals in her three tournament games. Cox is currently shooting 41.2 percent from the field and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line this postseason.
 
Cox becomes the first Greyhound player since Amy Arp to be named to the All-Tournament team back in 1995. This marks the second postseason award for the Portales High School standout as she also earned All-LSC Second Team honors.

Cox broke the single-season program record with 83 steals over the course of her sophomore campaign and ranks sixth in the record book with 61 made three-pointers and 147 assists.
 
Cox paces the High Plains squad in scoring with 13.1 points per game and has helped the team to a 22-9 season, which is one victory short of the program record. The Hounds trip to the LSC semifinals was the furthest playoff run since the 1992-93 team reached the LSC Championship game.
