PORTALES, NM – The 2021 Eastern New Mexico Homecoming Golf Tournament was a success this year as 64 golfers came out to the Portales Country Club for a day of fun competition on the course.

In the Championship Flight, the team of Fabian Lopez, Mark Foster, Michael Truijillo, and Sid Felan picked up first place with a score of 55. In second was the squad of Greg Gonzales, Viola Gonzales, Gary Chavez, and JK Kia (58). Michael Powers, Charlie Maciel, Clay Hawk, and Richard Primrose teamed up to take third place (58). Rounding out the top four was the team of Colton Phelps, Jason Paulk, David Maldonado Sr., and David Maldonado Jr (59).

The winners of the First Flight were Joe Urban, Miguel Vasquez, Greg Dobbins, and Garth Dotson with a score of 63. Preston Elkins, Darrin Stroik, Mike Storik, and Paul Stroik took second place (63), while the team of Larry Jewel, Alfonso Gomez, D'Lynn Hammer, and Boyd Miller finished in third (64). Picking up the fourth-place finish were Sia Poyer, Ralph Bell, Lu Fai'ai, and Scott Stanley (64).

Funds raised at the event are used to support students through scholarships at Eastern New Mexico.
