PORTALES, N.M. - Kevin Forde has been hired as the Deputy Director of Athletics for Internal Operations. He comes to Eastern New Mexico by way of West Fargo, North Dakota with a wide background both inside and outside college athletics.
Forde's most recent stop at the collegiate level was at Minot State. He served as the Director of Athletics there from July of 2022 to January of 2024. He also was the full-time Athletic Director at Wheeling Jesuit University (NAIA) from October of 2015 to June of 2017.
"I am honored to join Eastern New Mexico University and become part of a community with a strong commitment to students and a culture of excellence," Forde said. He told ENMU Athletics he is excited at the opportunity to "continue building a culture that promotes competitive success, academic achievement and meaningful opportunities for our students."
Forde's range of experience also includes ten years at the University of Mary as the Chief Financial Officer and Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations. From July of 2005 to October 2015, he oversaw the athletic department's budget, personnel, facilities, and contracts.
In addition to his full-time work, Forde has ample experience in interim roles in the college athletics sphere. He worked as a consultant for a half decade, which allowed him to fill in temporarily for senior collegiate athletics roles at three separate Division II institutions. He also has an interim stint as Athletic Director at Saint Xavier University (NAIA) under his belt.
Outside of college athletics, Forde has worked as a sales associate in multiple fields. He graduated from Southwest Minnesota State with an M.S. in Education (leadership specialization), and even led his own family farm for five years.
Forde begins work today and believes that after seeing this campus, "ENMU is where I belong."
