PORTALES, NM - The Eastern New Mexico football program hosts its third consecutive home game with a 12 p.m. contest against Texas A&M University-Kingsville on Saturday, September 18. The game will be the Lone Star Conference opener for both squads.Â
Fans are encouraged to get to the game early to enjoy tailgating, the Dawg Walk, and performances by the Greyhound Sound Marching Band leading up to the start of the contest. There is also a ticket partnership between the football and rodeo programs on Saturday. A ticket from Friday night's rodeo event will give free admission to the football game, while a ticket from Saturday's football game will give free admission to Saturday evening's rodeo event.Â

• All games will be broadcast on 105.9 KSEL-FM and KSELCountry.com with Donald "Doc" Elder calling the action. Games will also be broadcast on 106.5 KEND in Roswell and Artesia.

HOUNDS' LAST TIME OUT
• The Greyhounds are coming off a 42-14 victory over Adams State University on September 11. The win was the first of the season and the first for head coach
Tye Hiatt.

Nathan Valencia finished the night 22-27 passing with one interception. He threw for 237 yards and five touchdowns.
• The longest pass of the night came when Valencia connected with
Justin Manyweather for a 64-yard touchdown reception.

Campbell Keithley and
Zachery Fields also caught one touchdown each.

Currie Thomason rushed for the Greyhound's first touchdown of the night.

Camron Pitcher Jr. and
Tre Hubert paced the defense with five tackles apiece, while
Kendrick Milford picked up four tackles and 1.5 sacks.

Paul Smith picked up an interception late in the second quarter.
• The Greyhounds finished the night with 196 rushing yards, 245 passing yards, and 441 yards of total offense.

SCOUTING THE JAVELINAS
• Texas A&M University-Kingsville is coming off a 24-10 win over Western Oregon University on Sept. 11.
• The Javelinas reached the 200-yard mark on the ground for the first time since the 2019 season and snapped a four-game losing streak to the Wolves.
• Kirkland Joseph paced the defense with 12 tackles, while Cameron Cauthen was close behind with 11.
• The Javelinas are 1-1 overall and today's game will be the first Lone Star Conference game of the season for both teams.
AROUND THE LSC
• The season continues for Lone Star Conference teams with three league contests and three non-conference games this week. Angelo State, Midwestern State and UT Permian Basin lead the standings at 2-0.
• After week two, LSC football teams are 11-5 overall this season. The squads are 5-2 combined versus the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and Great Northwest Athletic Conference teams, which are also in NCAA Super Regional Four.
•The second round of LSC Football Players of the Week were announced earlier this week. Clayton Roberts of UT Permian Basin was named Offensive Player of the Week, Dylon Davis of Midwestern State was named Defensive Player of the Week, and Ritse Vaes of Midwestern State was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
