LAWTON, OKLA. – During a back-and-forth match, Eastern New Mexico Volleyball competed a 3-2 comeback over Cameron University on Friday evening at Aggie Gym. ENMU shift to 13-10 overall with a 4-9 LSC standing, well the Aggies move to 5-21, with a 0-12 conference record.

Both teams opened the first set matching each other for points, with no team able to break away. The scored reached 19-19, as Cameron put together a 5-1 streak to go up 24-20. A late rally from the Hounds came up short, with the home team taking the first set 25-22.

The second frame began with both teams having small spurts, with CU starting with a 6-3 run and ENMU replying with a 7-2 streak of their own, 10-8 ENMU. The Greyhounds jumped out in front at 17-13, but Cameron tied the set at 22-22. However, the Greyhounds picked up three straight points to take the second set 25-22.

ENMU continued its momentum into the third set taking a 6-1 lead early. Cameron responded with a 13-2 streak to go ahead of the Greyhounds 15-9. The Aggies pushed its lead to 24-16, moving to set point. On set, the Greyhounds forced the Aggies to earn the set scoring six straight points, with the set finishing 25-22 CU.

With the Aggies just one set to secure the match, didn't let CU build a substantial lead and held a 17-16 edge. However, Cameron used a 7-1 spurt to move ahead 22-18 over ENMU. The Greyhounds fought back with a 6-2 stretch to put the set at 24-24. CU moved to match point 26-25, but that sparked the Greyhounds to find three straight kills (all from
Gracelyn Stubbs) to send the match to a 5
th set, 28-26.

In the decisive set, Cameron took an early lead 8-5, but the Greyhounds moved ahead 10-9. Both teams traded points to put the score at 14-14. From then, a
Mikaela Garvin kill and a bad set from the Aggies sealed a 3-2 comeback win for ENMU, taking the final set 16-14.
NOTABLE STATS
- The Greyhounds collected 65 kills on the night, compared to the 50 from the Aggies. ENMU also led the match in digs, 107-90, while the Aggies finished with more blocks, 14-10.
- Stubbs posted a team high 18 kills, while Kali Nelson added 14 kills, and Garvin supplied 13 kills.
- The Greyhounds assists were provided by Qitana Sapiga (31 assists) and Kayla Ison (26 assists).
- Four different Greyhounds hit double figures for assists: Adriana Puni and Getsemani Carrasco each finished with 25 digs, with Rylee Mapes adding 15 digs, and Sapiga racked up 11 digs.
- Puni provided five total blocks, with Mapes and Stubbs contributing four total blocks each.

"I'm proud of our fight tonight," said Head Volleyball Coach Sia Poyer. "Our defense came through for us and that was the big difference in win".
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Several Greyhounds set career best during the match, with Sapiga suppling a personal best 31 assists. In kills, Nelson finished with a career high 14 kills.
- Defensivly, Puni and Mapes both set career best for digs, with Puni posting 25 digs and Mapes finding 15 digs.
- Sapiga supplied their eighth double-double of the season, finishing with 31 assists and 11 digs.
- The Greyhounds have now won nine straight matches against the Aggies, dating back to 2015. This is the longest win streak by the Greyhounds in the series history.
- ENMU look to continue its momentum as they head to #11 West Texas A&M, with first serve at 1 p.m.
