PORTALES, N.M. – After a 12-day holiday break, Eastern New Mexico Woman's Basketball reconvene for a pair of Lone Star Conference division games this weekend at Greyhound Arena. First, Eastern will play UT Permian Basin on Friday, Dec. 30, with first tip at 5:15 p.m. To begin 2023, the Greyhounds welcome (RV) Angelo State University on Sunday, Jan. 1, with the game scheduled to start at 1 p.m.

The Greyhounds look to rebound after falling in its last pair of LSC games, slipping to UT Tyler, 76-60, and dropping a tight contest with #23 Texas Woman's, 64-62.
SCOUTING THE HOUNDS
Playing their first division games of the season, Eastern hold a 5-4 record overall with a 2-2 LSC standing. In its opening nine games, the Greyhounds average 66.0 points per game (ppg) and allow 59.0 ppg. ENMU posts a 37.6% field goal percentage, 30.6% shooting from three-point range, and 69.2% at the foul line. Additionally, the Greyhounds collect 40.3 rebounds per game (rpg), 10.7 assists per game (apg), and 10.6 steals per game (spg).

Deja Adrian and
Edecia Beck are the top scorers for ENMU, with Adrian contributing 17.6 ppg and Beck providing 11.0 ppg. Additionally, Adrian leads the rebounding effort with 7.9 rpg, while
Lazurea Saunders pulls down 5.8 rpg.
Ashley Shipley is a key contributor with 9.4 ppg and 5.3 rpg. Beck, Adrian, and Saunders lead the defense with 2.0 spg, 1.9 spg, and 1.9 spg, respectively.
Bella Stone runs the offense with a team best 3.3 apg.

Around the conference, ENMU sit 4
th in the LSC for steals with 10.6 per game. Individually, Adrian is the second leading scorer in the conference (17.6 ppg) and is 4
th in the LSC for field goal percentage (.472). Beck tops the conference for free throw percentage, converting all but one free throw (.970, 32/33).
SCOUTING THE FALCONS
The Falcons come into the weekends game off the back of tight game with Angelo State, falling 68-59 on Dec. 16. Prior to that, UTPB picked up an LSC weekend sweep with wins over Oklahoma Christian, 68-53, and UAFS, 71-52.
Overall, UT Permian Basin stand at 6-5 with a conference standing of 3-2. UTPB is record 67.6 ppg, shooting 36.8% from the field, 29.0% from range, and 73.7 at the charity stripe (3rd in LSC). The Falcons are one of the best teams in the conference in creating steals, leading the LSC with 14.6 steals per contest. On the glass, the Falcons secure 34.0 rpg, while adding 11.2 apg, and 2.6 bpg.
Individually, UT Permian Basin have several key contributors on both sides of the ball. Andreea Mancha leads the team with 14.7 ppg and Holly Hemmeline adds 11.5 ppg. Hemmeline is a great three-point shooter, leading the conference with 3.1 three pointer per game. Alexus Quaadman leads the team with 8.4 rpg (3
rd in LSC) and adds 2.4 spg (4
th in LSC). Avalon Munoz leads the team in assists (4.6 apg) and steals (2.9 spg), both stats are in the top five of the LSC.
SCOUTING THE (RV) RAMBELLES
ASU enter the weekend receiving votes in the latest Woman's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll having won seven of their last eight games. Before the holiday break, the Rambelles picked up a win over UTPB, 68-59, and a dominant home against Schreiner, 101-65. Angelo State will face Western New Mexico on Friday, Dec. 30, before taking on the Greyhounds.
The Rambelles are the top scoring, top rebounding, and top assisting team in the LSC, holding a 9-2 record and a 4-1 LSC standing. ASU leads the conference with 74.1 ppg, 45.5 rpg, and 17.3 apg with the teams rebounding standing in 5
th in all of Division II. Angelo State are shooting 41.9% from the field (5th best in the LSC), 28.0% from range, and 71.3 at the charity stripe. The Rambelles also provide 3.2 blocks per game.
Sawyer Lloyd has stood out this season as one of the top contributors on ASU and in the conference. Lloyd leads the team with 15.5 ppg (4
th in LSC), 7.9 rpg (5
th in LSC), 4.9 apg (1
st in LSC), and 2.6 spg (2
nd in LSC). ASU's offense is also helped by 15.5 ppg from Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant, Madeline Stephens adding 14.5 ppg, and Payton Brown contributing 14.3 ppg. Stephens and McGhee-Pleasant are also key rebounders for the Rambelles, recording 7.9Â rpg and 7.6 rpg. Stephens is also has the highest field goal percentage in the LSC at 58.3%.
