Two Greyhounds recognized by Lone Star Conference

Andres Quintana and Whitney Dockweiler named LSC Scholar-Athlete awardees

RICHARDSON, TEXAS – The Lone Star Conference announced the 2021-22 LSC Scholar-Athlete Award winners today and Andres Quintana (Albuquerque, N.M.) and Whitney Dockweiler (Bellevue, Neb.) represented Eastern New Mexico University on the list.

Quintana appeared in 32 games for ENMU this season and was third in batting average (.306). The redshirt junior ended the season with 30 hits, 26 runs, and 12 runs batted in. 

The starting catcher threw out 10 runners on base and accumulated 169 put outs on the year. He earned Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition in fall 2021. 

Dockweiler started all 18 games in goal for Eastern.  She completed the 2021 campaign with a .799 save percentage, which ranks eighth all-time in a single season in program history.

The senior posted two clean sheets for the Greyhounds and has been recognized on the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll four times.

Awardees are selected based on outstanding accomplishments in athletics, scholarship and leadership. To be eligible for consideration, student-athletes must have participated at least two years in their sport and be a member of the graduating class.
