PORTALES, N.M. – Following five straight home games, Eastern New Mexico Woman's Basketball start a four-game road stretch this weekend against Cameron University and Midwestern State University. Eastern will play Cameron in Lawton, Okla. on Thursday, Jan. 5, with first tip scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Then, ENMU travel south to Wichita Falls, Texas to take on Midwestern State on Saturday, Jan. 7, with a schedule start time of 12 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
In its last weekend of action, ENMU picked up a win over UT Permian Basin, 65-60, to end 2022. Then, the Greyhounds were held in a 73-63 defeat against Angelo State. In the Hounds win,
Edecia Beck led the team with 14 points and 14 rebounds, while
Deja Adrian finished with 23 points in the Hounds loss against the Rambelles.
SCOUTING THE HOUNDS
After its first game of 2023, Eastern sports a 6-5 record overall with a 3-3 LSC standing. Entering the weekend, the Greyhounds average 65.6 points per game (ppg) and allow 60.4 ppg. ENMU holds a 36.2% field goal percentage, 28.6% shooting from three-point range, and 72.5% at the foul line. Eastern average 40.8 rebounds per game (rpg), 10.5 assists per game (apg), and 10.4 steals per game (spg).
The Greyhounds have a balanced scoring threat, with five different student-athletes averaging over 8.0 ppg. Adrian leads the Hounds scoring with 16.8 ppg and Beck provides 11.0 ppg. Both Adrian and Beck also lead the rebounding effort with 7.2 rpg and 6.1 rpg.
Ashley Shipley is in the top-three for scoring (9.7 ppg) and rebounding (5.9 rpg) for the team.
Bella Stone leads the offense with 3.5 apg and helps on defense with a team best 2.0 spg.
Around the conference, ENMU create the 4
th most steals in the LSC with 10.6 per game. Individually, Adrian is the second leading scorer in the conference (16.8 ppg) and is 4
th in the LSC for field goal percentage (.459). Beck tops the conference for free throw percentage, converting all but one free throw (.977, 42/43).
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
Cameron finds themselves with a 6-7 overall record along with a 3-4 Lone Star Conference standing. In its last pair of games, the Aggies struggled offensively falling to Lubbock Christian University 85-34, and losing to #5 West Texas A&M, 81-41.
CU this season are scoring 65.4 ppg but are allowing 74.0 ppg (2
nd most in LSC). Cameron are shooting 39.2% from the field, 32.2% from range, and 75.0% at the charity stripe (2
nd in LSC). The Aggies pick up 35.2 rpg, distribute 12.8 apg, and poke away 8.1 spg.
Alena Wilson leads the Aggies in both points (12.3 ppg) and rebounds (7.1 rpg). Additionally, Korie Allensworth adds 11.6 ppg, while Katie King provides 9.7 ppg, a team best 4.2 apg (5
th in the LSC), and a team high 2.2 spg.
SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
Recently, Midwestern State suffered a pair of losses and will be in search of their first win of the new year. MSU were dealt an 86-71 loss against #5 West Texas A&M, and a 74-63 loss against Lubbock Christian. The Mustangs will face Western New Mexico on Thursday, Jan. 5, before taking on the Greyhounds.
Midwestern State are one of the top scoring teams in the LSC (70.3 ppg, 4
th in LSC) but allow the most points per game in the LSC (76.5 ppg). MSU are shooting 38.1% from the field, 29.5% from beyond the arc, and 71.7% at the foul line (2
nd in LSC). The Mustangs secure 41.2 rpg (5
th best in the LSC), post 12.2 apg, pick up 7.5 spg, and find a conference high 5.1 blocks per game.

lStice and Dyamon Griggs both top the scoring for the Mustangs with 12.2 ppg. Mandy Withey leads the team in rebounding, 8.7 rpg (3
rd in LSC), and blocks, 1.5 bpg (2
nd in LSC). Kennedi Green is an important component to the team with 7.6 ppg and 2.5 apg, and Eternity Jackson posts a team best 2.4 apg.
