PORTALES, N.M. – ENMU Women's Basketball embark on their first trip of the season, heading to Colorado for a pair of games against RMAC opponents. First, Eastern will play Adams State on Thursday evening in Alamosa, Colorado at 7 p.m. Then, the Greyhounds travel to Gunnison, Colo. to face Western Colorado with the first tip set for 6 p.m.

Eastern opened the season with a pair of victories over Fort Lewis, 78-57, and New Mexico Highlands, 70-64 (OT).
Deja Adrian led the Hounds scoring 27 points on 12-16 shooting from the field.
Jamila Nansikombi-Gunter supplied 20 points in the victory over Fort Lewis. During the overtime win against New Mexico Highlands, Nansikombi-Gunter contributed a game high 18 points, scoring six in overtime.
Vanessa Oduah added 17 points to the winning effort.
SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
After the opening two games, the Greyhounds are scoring 74.0 points per game (ppg) and holding opponents to 60.5 ppg with a 2-0 record. From the field, ENMU are shooting .460 from the field, hitting 34.6% of attempts from behind the arc, while connecting on 65.7% of their free throws. Eastern pulls down 36.5 rebounds per game (rpg), dishing out 12.5 assists per game (apg), and collecting 13.0 steals per game (spg).

To start the season, Adrian leads the scoring effort with 19.5 ppg, with Nansikombi-Gunter adding 19.0 ppg. Oduah leads the rebounding effort with 10.5 rpg and adds 11.0 ppg.
Jaz Salon's 4.0 apg and Oduah's 3.5 apg are the main providers, with Salon and Nansikombi-Gunter leading the defense with 3.0 spg.

Around the conference, ENMU has several top-five marks in the LSC individually and as a team. ENMU leads the conference in field goal percentage (46.0%), while being fourth in the LSC for several categories: Points (74.0 ppg), 3PT% (34.6%), and steals (13.0 spg). Nationally, the Greyhounds are 10

SCOUTING THE GRIZZLIES
Adams State has put together a solid start to the 2023-24 season, with a 3-1 record against other LSC programs. Recently, Adams State bested Cameron University, 63-53, and Midwestern State 102-84.
Playing their first game at home this weekend, Adams State find 76.8 ppg while defensively allowing 67.5 ppg. The Grizzlies hold a 43.6% field goal percentage, 37.1% from behind the arc, and 90.0% from the foul line (10
th in the nation). ADSU pickup 35.8 rpg, while producing 13.8 apg, 11.0 spg, and 4.5 bpg.
Adams State has four individuals averaging over 10.0 points per game, led by Harmanie Dominguez with 15.3 ppg. Riahana Davis leads the team with 6.8 rpg, and contributes 14.8 ppg (2
nd best on the team). Leading the team in assists, Angelline Nageak has 13.3 ppg and 3.3 apg.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
The Mountaineers dropped their first two games of the season on the road against two contenders of the Lone Star Conference. WCU fell in their season opener, 66-47, versus Texas Woman's, and fell in their following game against Angelo State, 64-55.
Western Colorado stand at 0-2 after the beginning of the season, playing their first home games this week. WCU score at a rate of 51.0 ppg, while giving up 65.0 ppg. The Mountaineers have struggled from the field in their opening two games of the season, shooting 28.7% from the field, while connecting on 17.6% attempts from the three-point range, but hitting 67.5% of their free throws. WCU also record 43.5 rpg, 7.0 apg, 4.5 spg, and 2.0 bpg.
After the opening two games, Rachel Cockman spearheads the offense with 18.5 ppg, and leads the team on the glass with 13.5 rpg. Natalie Jojola (9.5 ppg) and Ivey Schmidt (8.0 ppg) are the other main contributors for WCU, with Schmidt's 7.5 rpg playing a big part on the defensive side of the ball.
