PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball will conclude it's regular season with a home-and-home series with Western New Mexico University this week. First, the Greyhounds will play their final home game of the season on Monday, Feb. 20, with first tip set to begin at 5:15. The Greyhounds will be honoring it's four graduating seniors prior to the start of Monday's game. Then, ENMU heads to Silver City, N.M. for its final contest of the regular season with game time set for 5:30 p.m.

The Greyhounds look to bounce back after a pair of losses to Oklahoma Christian, 82-74, and UAFS, 75-62. In both games,
Deja Adrian and
Ashley Shipley set new career best for scoring. In the loss against the Eagles, Adrian posted 29 points from the field. Shipley led all scorers in the loss at Arkansas-Fort Smith, finishing with 22 points in the game.
POSTSEASON PUSH
Simply put, if the Greyhounds (12-13, 9-11 LSC) win their final two games they advance to the 2023 LSC Women's Basketball Tournament. Four teams are in contention for the final two spots of the tournament: ENMU, Cameron (13-14, 10-11 LSC), UT Permian Basin (13-14, 10-11 LSC), and St. Edward's (13-15, 9-11 LSC). Eastern have the tie breaker against each team, finishing 5-0 against the previously mentioned programs this season. ENMU can advance with only one win this week, but they will need other results to go in their favor around the conference if they want to advance. The Greyhounds cannot advance if they lose both games to the Mustangs.
SCOUTING THE HOUNDS
Entering the final week of the regular season, ENMU have a 12-13 record and a 9-11 conference record. Eastern are scoring 65.1 points per game (ppg) while allowing 63.4 ppg. From the field, ENMU are shooting 34.9% while holding a 27.9% shooting percentage from three, and 68.6% from the foul line. Eastern secure 42.3 rebounds per game (rpg), 10.6 assists per game (apg), and 9.7 steals per game (spg).

Adrian has been one of the top scorers in the conference this season, holding a team best in both points (358, 17.0 ppg) and rebounds (141, 6.7 rpg).
Edecia Beck makes big contributions on both ends, with 11.3 ppg and 6.3 rpg. Shipley has been productive scoring these last few weeks, averaging 16.7 ppg in their last six games, adding to their 11.2 ppg on the season.Â
Lazurea Saunders chips in on the rebounding effort with 5.7 rpg, while
Bella Stone contributes a team best 3.5 apg and 1.9 spg.
Around the conference, ENMU are tied as the top rebounding team in the LSC (42.3 rpg), with a major help on the offensive glass, 14.8 offensive rebounds per game (1st in LSC). Six different Greyhounds find an average of 5.0 rebounds or more. The Greyhounds are 4th in the LSC for steals with 9.7 per game. Individually, Adrian is the second leading scorer in the conference (17.0 ppg) and is 4th for field goal percentage (.450). Beck is third in free throw shooting in the conference (83.2%). Stone is 5th in the LSC for minutes, 34.3 minutes per game.
SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
Western New Mexico enter the final two games of the season having lost their last two contests. First, WNMU fell to UAFS, 74-52, and lost to Oklahoma Christian, 68-53.
The Mustangs sport a record of 8-16, and 6-14 in conference action. WNMU find an average of 57.2 ppg, and hold teams to just 59.4 points per night. On the season, Western New Mexico hold a 38.0% field goal percentage, 27.1% from behind the arc, and 66.1% from the foul line. WNMU are very good rebounding team on both ends of the floor, securing 38.2 rebounds per game, and only allow 34.9 rpg (5
th in LSC). The Mustangs produce 11.5 assists per game, grabbing 6.3 spg, and post 2.4 bpg.
Diamond Moore and Sydney Wright are the main scorers for Western, averaging 11.0 ppg and 10.7 ppg, respectively. Moore is the team's top rebounder with 164 rebounds, 6.8 rpg. Wright leads the offense with 2.2 apg, with Brooke Rodgers provides 2.0 apg and a team high 1.3 spg.
