PORTALES, N.M. – On the final home game of the season, Eastern New Mexico Baseball dropped the getaway game with Lubbock Christian University, 18-5 (7 Inn.), on Sunday afternoon at Greyhound Baseball Field. The Chaps complete a series victory, 3-1, over ENMU. Eastern finishes the regular season with a 23-26 record, along with a 21-26 conference standing. LCU ended the regular season with a 31-19 standing, along with a 29-19 LSC record.

Lubbock Christian wasted no time to get on the scoreboard, scoring seven runs in the opening frame. LCU recorded six hits, scoring all seven runs with two outs during the inning. After the Chaps added a run in the second inning, ENMU scored a run to get themselves on the board.
Jayden Martinez singled to record the first Greyhound hit, then
Demetrio Archuleta doubled to left center to score the Greyhounds first run.

During the fourth inning, Lubbock Christian brough home seven runs from six hits to take a 15-1 advantage.
Jonatan Clough led off the inning with a walk then moved to second base after a hit by pitch.
Dylan Hummel brought home Clough from second with an RBI single. For the fifth frame, LCU added three more runs, and ENMU scored two runs. The Hounds scored their runs with two outs in the inning, as Clough and Ponce both had RBI singles.

The Greyhounds pushed across one run before the game ended.
Nick Schifftner tripled in the bottom of the sixth inning, and
Jack Thompson brought him home on an RBI groundout. The game concluded with the Chaps winning 18-5 after seven innings.
NOTABLE STATS
- Lubbock Christian provided 22 hits during the game, while ENMU finished with eight hits.
- The Hounds hits came from eight different hitters, while five RBIs were posted by five different bats.
- Archuleta and Clough each recorded a hit, scored a run, and had an RBI. Schifftner and Martinez had a hit and a run scored.
- Tommy Perez got the start for the Hounds throwing three innings. Noah De La Riva (1.1 innings) and William McBride (2.2 innings) also entered the game, with McBride not allowing a hit during his outing.
- Marcos Escalera and Logan Moore took the rubber for LCU, with Escalera earning the win after 5.0 innings of work.

Really proud and thankful for all our seniors and their families because this program wouldn't be in the position we are in without their efforts," said Price. - ENMU Baseball recognized 13 seniors prior to the start of the game: Camden Matthews, Braeton Matthews, Jude Perea, Jack Thompson, Vernon Hart, Dalton Thatcher, Damian Acosta, Javier Luna, Tommy Perez, Rio Granger, William McBride, Nick Schifftner, and Luke Baca.
- The Greyhounds will now enter the first round of the Lone Star Conference tournament as the eight seed. Eastern will travel to face top seeded #2 Angelo State University for a best of three game series beginning on Friday, May 5th. Start times are yet to be announced for those games.
