PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball break up its home schedule to head south to face a pair of Lone Star Conference East Division opponents. Eastern take on (RV) Texas A&M International on Thursday, Jan. 25, beginning at 5 p.m. (MST). Then, Eastern travel to Kingsville to tangle with Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday, Jan. 27, with first tip scheduled for 12 p.m. (MST).

The Greyhounds compiled a 1-1 week during their last weekend of action. First, the Greyhounds held Lubbock Christian through three quarters, but the Lady Chaps pulled away in the final period to win 73-57. Then, Eastern bested the Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M in a thrilling contest, 71-70. ENMU led for most of the game, with
Ishuana Hunter pacing the Hounds for scoring with 24 points and six rebounds.
SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
The Greyhounds enter the road trip with a 6-10 overall record, while sporting a 2-8 Lone Star Conference record. ENMU's offense is posting 61.3 points per game (ppg), with the Hounds defense giving up 64.8 ppg. For shooting percentages, the Greyhounds are averaging 39.2% from the field, connecting on 26.8% of three-point attempts, and 73.8% at the foul line. ENMU picks up 33.9 rebounds per game (rpg), while allowing opposing teams just 32.4 rpg (3
rd best in LSC). Eastern's defense pokes away 10.2 steals per game (4
th in the LSC). The Greyhounds also supply 10.1 assists per game (apg), and 1.2 blocks per game (bpg).

Hunter has emerged as the hot hand on offense since the start of the new year, averaging 17.5 ppg on 50.5% shooting from the floor. The Juniors also holds a team best 8.0 rpg.
Deja Adrian and Jamila Nasikombi-Gunter each find more than 10.0 ppg, with Adrian hitting 12.4 ppg and Nansikombi-Gunter reaching 10.6 ppg. Both Adrian (5.4 rpg) and Nansikombi-Gunter (5.2 rpg) support the Hounds rebounding, with the latter leading the way with 2.2 spg.
Jaz Salon helps the offense with 8.6 ppg and a team best 2.1 apg.
SCOUTING THE DUSTDEVILS
Texas A&M International recently dropped out of the Woman's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) after being the #19 team in the nation. The Dustdevils, now receiving votes, are 15-4 on the season with a 7-4 LSC standing. TAMIU recently had its six-game win streak snapped, falling to RV UT Tyler (65-47) and #14 Texas Woman's (73-59).

The Dustdevils are the best scoring team in the LSC, scoring 81.1 ppg (4
th best in the nation). Texas A&M International also stands out on defense, with a conference best 16.1 spg (4
th in nation), forcing 28.05 turnovers per game (best in the conference, 4
th in Division II). TAMIU focus on high percentage shots (42.8% FG%, 4
th in LSC) and three-point shooting, with an average of 26.2 attempts per game to lead the conference (32.8 3PT%, 3
rd in LSC), while sharing the basketball with a LSC best 17.6 apg. Getting to the foul line is also a key to the Dustdevils game, averaging 23.32 free throw attempts per game (1

SCOUTING THE JAVELINAS
Texas A&M-Kingsville have had a slow start to conference play, holding a 3-8 record in Lone Star Conference play, while standing 7-11 on the season. Last week, TAMUK suffered a pair of close losses to #14 Texas Woman's (64-54) and RV UT Tyler (58-53).
The Javelinas aren't the most offensive team, scoring 59.2 ppg, but are the 4
th best defending team in the LSC only allowing 61.4 ppg. From the floor, TAMUK is shooting 40.4%% from the field, with a very efficient 33.6% from behind the arc (2
nd in LSC), and just 67.8% at the foul line. Texas A&M-Kingsville secure 34.9 rpg, dish out 13.8 apg, cause 6.6 spg, and supply 2.7 bpg.
